Well as of today its official – I'm a member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association (FSWA). Impressed? Yeah, well neither was my wife but it’s a big step for me and Elite, and I am really excited. It’s really nice for our fledging community to establish some credibility and makes me feel like we are really making head way. The FSWA was founded to be a voice for writers in the arena of fantasy sports. The organization, through its executive staff and board of directors, strives to promote and acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by fantasy sports writers throughout the industry. The FSWA is home to many great sports writers, here a just a few:
Michael Fabiano (NFL.com)
Paul Forrester (Sports Illustrated)
Brandon Funston (Yahoo Sports)
Mike Harmon (Fox Sports)
Matt Pitzer (USAToday)
James Quintong (ESPN)
Gregg Rosenthal (RotoWorld)
Peter Schoenke (Rotowire)
George Winkler (The Sporting News)
This past year has been great for me fantasy wise; Elite has doubled in size, I joined the FWSA, and I absolutely crushed the Elite baseball league (not any easy task I assure you). Also, thanks to Elite-leaguer Joel Petrie I now play in a strat league with fantasy sports heavyweights like Jason Grey, Joe Sheehen, Brendan Roberts, Matt Beagle, and Lawr Michaels. I can only hope 2010 keeps me on the same path. I'm ready to step up my game even further, so here's to a great season. let's hope it culminates in my first FSWA award and even more success for the Elite Fantasy Players community!
